Thank you: The McDonald’s Campaign ended with 701 Signatures Submitted to 16 McDo Branches in 3 Countries!

The fight for a sustainable future is a constant battle, and whatever we contribute, to push the movement forward, matters. Therefore, we must act.

I started a year-long campaign around March 2019 entitled “McDonald’s: Prioritize Sustainability Now!” In my mind, I had 3 goals when I pushed for this campaign. One would be to encourage the fast-food chain giant, McDonald’s, to prioritize sustainability in all of their commercial operations. Second is to let business leaders know that we are not okay with them sabotaging our future in exchange for business profit. Lastly, it was to let everyone know that it’s totally okay to stand strong against all forms of environmental abuse happening today. As I look back today, I hope that this year-long journey was able to at least create a ripple effect in all of those seemingly unreachable goals.

Wrapping up Sustainability Hero’s 2019 with a grateful and hopeful Heart

I introduced the newest hero in town last May of this year, 2019. Sustainability Hero (SH) is, as of the moment, 7 months old. I can’t believe how this small initiative turned out to be more than just an eco-store to me. I’ve grown a lot after I founded both Sustainability Hero and Open Letters for the Environment. This advocacy for the Environment has given me huge opportunities to self-actualize, to listen and learn from people, to innovate, and most importantly, to push for radical changes. My heart is full.

As I wrap up SH’s 2019, I would like to open a page of my book to share a piece of this journey with you.

The Sustainable Lifestyle Journey: My Hows and Whys

I’m not an expert or a person of high position. I am basically just a nobody who is trying to live a Sustainable Lifetsyle. A Sustainable Lifestyle, for me, is just meeting your basic needs without harming the environment in order to make essential resources available to sustain future generations. This article is about why and how I live a Sustainable Lifestyle, with more emphasis on the WHYs, because I think, it would easier for a person to distinguish the HOWs when the WHYs are put to heart.

I think many of us already know that humans are now facing the greatest threat to our kind, which is the Ecological Breakdown. But despite it all, we can only see very few actions being done. I can think of a number of reasons why, but I would like to assume that we are just not fully aware of what we are up against. I am hoping to at least shed some light on our current situation by anchoring this article on the 2 major factors of the Ecological Breakdown; (1) our Wastes and the (2) Climate Crisis, and on how, as an individual, I try to at least contribute on fighting them.

Naging Woke, Na-disappoint, Nag Eco Store: A Zerowaster opted for Social Entrepreneurship

I created the new hero in town, the Sustainability Hero! Let me tell you why.

People have always known about the Environmental Crisis. Teachers taught us about it as early as primary school. I knew about the importance of Trash Segregation and Tree Planting, the danger of Climate Change, and all those Science a long time ago, but I’ve never really cared about it before. Maybe because nobody really cared about it. Not my parents. Not my teachers. Not my friends. Nobody.
