LAUNCHING: Project Batang Hilongosnon

During my birthday last year, I promised that I’m moving my advocacy for Education forward this year. I imagined that I would launch it by the time I celebrate my 2020 birthday, which is this December. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has pushed us all to the edges.

Did you know that as you are sitting comfortably in your study table ready for your online classes everyday, there are students and teachers;

• Who are stopping their studies because they cannot afford online classes?
• Who are climbing mountains just for mobile signal?
• Who do not have the penny to even pay for an hour in the internet cafe to download their study modules?
• Who do not have the gadgets to watch the videos of their learning modules?

My heart is full.

As I wrap up SH’s 2019, I would like to open a page of my book to share a piece of this journey with you.

I never exactly thought that there exists such a beautiful spot near my home.

Big-ot Falls is located in Brgy. San Isidro, Hilongos, Leyte. It has become popular to the Hilongosnons earlier this year when the incumbent Mayor, Hon. Albert Villahermosa, visited the place. When the visit was shared online, Big-ot Falls has become the talk of the town.

Big-ot Falls is not yet popular to people outside of Hilongos. I am also thinking of keeping it away from the outside world to preserve it, but it is too difficult not to blog about its pristine beauty. It really was captivating. ❤

Bagumbayan

It is a place that I love my whole heart. I would have to say that I grew up here since I oftenly visit because my ancestry grew up here and my grandparents are still living here up to this day. Today, we are maintaining a permanent residence in this gracious barangay.

In some jokes, they call it “New Town”. For kids who still cannot speak clearly, they call it; “Umbayan”. It is my pleasure to introduce to you Brgy. Bagumbayan of Hilongos, Leyte.
